Welcome to our movement!!!

We are experienced engineers who are passionate about code, and want to help others gain experience and start their professional careers.

You play a central role in helping our interns gain real world experience through open source contributions.

A successful Minorio internship ends with a few pull requests accepted to a high profile open source project, and an intern capable of describing their work on their CV and in their job interviews.

To be successful as a Minorio tech lead the critical elements are (1) ability to scope out relevant tasks for an intern in a high profile open source project, which help them learn industry required concepts (Self Paced Intern Learning Library) and (2) ability to help the intern get their code accepted through facilitating this with the open source projects’ community.

What does the tech lead provide:

  1. Scoping of projects, curating them to the intern.
  2. Support in unblocking intern with coding roadblocks (debugging together).
  3. Teaching concepts that are central to working in large code bases / teams.
  4. Accountability to making progress (through check-ins).
  5. Motivation and emotional support while running through difficult stretches.
  6. Facilitation with open source community to get pull requests merged in.

We prepared a few resourced (Self paced tech lead learning library) for you for each of the above steps, both to help you with actual skills, but also the processes we’re using at Minorio to accomplish these tasks.
